Bailey Jo Harbaugh works as an Atlanta-based performing artist, movement practitioner, and choreographic assistant.
She graduated as Outstanding Senior from the Department of Dance at Kennesaw State University with Magna Cum Laude honors in 2019. Here she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree, received multiple dance merit scholarships, and spent 8 consecutive semesters with the KSU Dance Company performing original roles in faculty and undergraduate works by McCree O’Kelley, Daniel Gwirtzman, Ivan Pulinkala, James Graham, and many others.
Bailey Jo’s professional career began in 2019 with an apprenticeship at contemporary company Staibdance, under the direction of George Staib and managed by Sarah Hillmer. In 2020, she was promoted to a full-time member where she currently rehearses and performs the company’s repertoire. Since then, she has completed 3 consecutive seasons with Tomer Zvulun as a dancer for the Atlanta Opera, and continues to be onboarded for upcoming work.
Bailey Jo performs in the dance ensemble with musical theater company, the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, under direction of Mary Nye Bennett. She also guests with contemporary dance collective, Fly on a Wall, where she engages intimately with its founders and members; Sean Nguyen-Hilton, Nicole Johnson, Nathan Griswold, Jimmy Joyner, and Nicholas Goodly. Other professional involvements include ImmerseATL and the Mediums Collective.She has participated in movement workshops with Batsheva Dance Company, Ate9 Dance Company, and New Dialect. Her ventures have allowed her to work professionally with Andrea Knowlton, Ido Gidron, Kelvin Yu, Banning Bouldin, Navarra Novy-Williams, John McFall, Ricardo Aponte, Amir Levy, and Sonia Olla.
